Tustin, CA – June, 2010 – Fueled by consistent annualized growth and increased demand by the medical device, biomedical, aerospace, defense and commercial industries for innovative, precision optics design engineering and production solutions, LightWorks Optics, Inc. embarked on a two-year expansion effort to accommodate the accelerated growth.

The expansion project began with the opening of a new 10,000 square-foot High-Volume Production (HVP) facility in Vista, California in 2008. The HVP facility was designed to help optimize testing and assembly integration efficacy, while significantly expanding commercial production capacity. State-of-the-art equipment assets were also added, including four large single-point diamond-turning machines, aspheric and conventional fabrication equipment, a CNC machining center, two certified clean rooms and multiple, high-end integration and testing stations.

In February, 2010, LightWorks Optics completed the 14,000 square-foot expansion and modernization of their existing design and engineering offices in Tustin, California, to complement the HVP facility and enhance overall productivity.

“Due to our success over the past five years, we simply outgrew our existing operations,” said LightWorks Optic’s President and CEO, Dan Barber. “I’m proud of how far we’ve come and believe the expansion effort will help us sustain that growth, while continuing to provide excellent value and superior optics solutions for our customers.”
