LightWorks Optics, Inc. Hires Daniel Hedberg as Program Manager

Tustin, CA – July 01, 2010 – LightWorks Optics, Inc., the leading provider of premier optical engineering and production solutions for precision assemblies, systems and components, is pleased to announce the hire of Daniel Hedberg as Program Manager.

In his new role, Hedberg will be responsible for the planning and management of all engineering projects and associated budgets for customers in the defense, space, medical device and commercial market segments.

“Daniel is a tremendous asset to our management team,” said Eric D’Ippolito, Director of Program Management. “His wealth of project management and optical engineering experience, combined with expertise in revenue forecasting will not only help bring greater efficiencies to our internal processes, but provide higher quality outcomes for our customers.”

Prior to joining LightWorks Optics, Hedberg served as an Engineering Manager and Optical Engineer at Newport Corporation for six years. In this position, he was responsible for managing the company’s over-all engineering and new product development efforts. Hedberg also served for two years as an Optical Engineer at Intralase, an ophthalmic femtosecond laser manufacturer, focusing on research and development for advanced manufacturing technologies. In addition, he worked two years as an Optical Engineer for a telecommunications start-up, Optical Crossing.

Hedberg received a Master’s Degree in Physics from California State University Fullerton and a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from the University of Idaho. He is also an active member of the Optical Society of America (OSA).
