Beamsplitters & Polarizers
II-VI Optical Systems fabricates beamsplitters and beam combiners in a variety of sizes and configurations. These include cube, plate, and custom multi-path assemblies. Beamsplitters are used to change the propagation direction of incident light by reflecting a portion of the light and transmitting another portion, hence “splitting” the light into two beams. Beamsplitter designs can be used to split incident light according to intensity, wavelength and/or polarization state. Beam combiners are used to provide the opposite function, that is, combining light beams incident from different directions into a single co-incident beam.
